Inside the setup panel should be a good place. You might also consider
making it look like the user is _supposed_ to run a server. Encourage
it a bit.
This is cool but How do the new users running servers attract folks to
the new servers???
I have an idea. When a user configures the settings for their personal
server one of the things they should be able to configure is a small
(say 30x30pixel max) image that will act as their 'portal' to their
server. When they start their personal server they are given an
oppurtunity to click on the main OpenVerse room in the location they
would like to place their 'portal' image.
This way the links in the main OpenVerse room are dynamic and changing.
In addition you'll need to give them some options to disable this
feature if they want their room to be invite only or possibly not
visible to some folks. (based on the 'ranking' system you're thinkin
about?)
You'll also need to figure out a way to deal with folks who might be
visiting a personal room when the room goes down. Instead of leaving
them stranded there you might have it set up so that you revert back to
the main OpenVerse world if you were in a personal room that lost its
connection.
Might also have an easy way for users to configure the (manditory) link
back to the main OpenVerse world from their personal room.
Oh yeah.. One last chance to plug the logo contest!! If you haven't
submitted one yet you had better GIMP one up!! Don't miss out on the
fun!! make one tonight!!
