tigert,

   I wanted to take the time in email to personally thank you for your interest
in OV. Often, i'm bombarded with questions, suggestions, bug reports, and the
like when I'm in chat and it's hard for me to just chat and say things to any
one person.

   Your support of OV and your VERY kind comments and sensible critisizms (sp)
really get us motivated to create a better product over all and (IMHO) the
users are just as if not more important than the coders of an OpenSource
application as they provide the ideas which we implement in the community
application.

   Like it or lump it, you are a celebrity in our virtual community and we all
respect every single sylable you speak. Perhaps we all feel a bit insignificant
in comparison to tigert,lunus,alan,the whole kde and gnome crews. but the truth
is, without talent like yours and theirs driving the movement to software that
does not suck we would just be a bunch of small knit nothings.

   The fact is that what when people meet you, alan, alan's wife, linus (I never
met linus) and other OS heros (even if only online) and discover that (OH MY
GOD) these are people! They cuss. they have opinions I don't share, these
are PEOPLE! This really helps the community and your recent involvement in OV
as a visitor and links from your web site have really made the synapse happen
for our users.

  In closing, thanks again for helping to promote our [silly] OpenSource
Project and we hope to see you often in the futuree. I'm copying this letter to
the OpenVerse mailing list because I'm sure many of them feel the same way I do.
