Greetings from HighFlyer.

When connecting to a dead server, OpenVerse hangs (in X-windows,
the window title changes to "Not Connected").  The client can then
only be terminated with a "kill" signal.  Try connecting to the
apparently dead server md.us.openverse.org to see what I mean.
