Hi everyone,

I'm new at this, and a non-geek, just an 'OpenVerse consumer" if you will,
with a couple ideas for OV that I thought I would throw into the lion's den.
Please don't chew me up and spit me out too bad......

First, I get the feeling that when a new guest arrives they may feel a bit
bewildered by how and what OpenVerse is all about, and unless there is a
host there to tour and explain things to them, they might leave right away
just blowing off the whole experience. Is it possible to have a button to
click on for "New Guest Tour" that would be automated and actually draw the
person through the whole experience and have sequences set up to tell them
how to do things, explain what the OV verbiage is (i.e. avatar, sorry had no
idea what that was before I got here) what things there are available to do
and how to do them, etc etc, and maybe even a short comment questionnaire at
the end for their input, then that would take them back to the main room
where most people hang out.

Secondly, I think I mentioned this to Cruise before, since he is a race car
driver (doh!) , thought it would be cool to have a race track set up
visually on the screen with a choice of vehicle avatars to choose from that
people could move about and crash into. I think this idea has lots of room
for expansion.

How about if we have Topic Sessions on appointed times/dates. There are so
many of you that are so knowledgeable in different areas that it would be
cool to have chat sessions that people can prepare for ahead of time with
questions and/or information that it that can be shared in a forum. Maybe
an OV calendar ?? That way things aren't just random chat for whoever
happens to be there, that might miss something they want to know about.
Make use of this logged information ! You are all so smart, let's impress
the masses and be known for our OpenVerse Club, the word might get out for
people to 'pop in' and participate/observe. And, of course, have "off
session" times .....Maybe making a Header or Title somewhere of what topic
is in session ....and a review/minutes/log that people can refer to at their
leisure if they miss something or want to share it with someone.

I like Trivial Pursuit, let's have game night ! People can 'beep' in with
answers, or maybe some kind of automated game people can play in one of the
rooms, either against a bot or with others, hehe or maybe not ....

I know Cruise wants to do a CC in OV, maybe either take a vote or have a
sign up list of people who want to participate. Do an e-mailing list to
invite participants and they can respond/rsvp to set up a date. They might
bring a guest along ! Plan ahead !

I would like to see the OV screen more streamlined in its viewing. Mark the
passageways on the door as "Passage" so people dont just fall into another
room. The people counter is a great idea, maybe make it smaller (not like
an odometer) and tag it with "OpenVerse Guests". Maybe it would be cool to
have an object in the room that each person contributes personally, a
conversation piece if you will. (Cruise, maybe you need an OV Post Office
box ...) Is it possible to have music playing in here ...?
Cruise, maybe in the corner somewhere you can put "Author-Cruise" so people
can recognize you right away. How about a comment/suggestion box within the
screen that people can dump ideas into while they are there (and thinking of
them at the time) that can be sorted through at a later time?

Ok, I'm starting to ramble aimlessly here, sorry if I stepped on any toes
....wasn't intentional.

Kudos to Cruise, he has busted his ass on this project and has done a
tremendous job !

Cheers!
