Moderating the list is the only sure way to get rid of spammers, there is
nothing in an email address which says this user is a spammer and once they've
sent their garbage to the list then their work is done.

I don't think there is any time sensitive material on this list.. Y'all can
wait a few hours for posting by a moderator.

Or you can hack your email messages to include an "Approved: " header line. Ask
me for the password privately.
