[OpenVerse] Fwd: Black Pyramid

MODERATORS NOTE: JACK SENT THIS TO ME PERSONALLY BUT IT HAS VALUE FOR THE LIST.
OV HAS GROWN TO THE POINT WHERE ALL THE GEEK TALK AND CODE QUESTIONS SCARE
PEOPLE AWAY (INCLUDING ME) SO A PLACE IS BEING CREATED FOR THESE TYPES OF
PEOPLE, CONVERSATIONS.

IN THE MEANTIME, PLEASE TRY TO RESTRICT TOO MUCH GEEK TALK IN THE MAIN ROOM. WE
ARE LOOSING USERS BECAUSE OF IT. MAKE THEM FEEL WELCOMED, TALKA BOUT MTV :)

		BLACK PYRAMID DRAFT OUTLINE by Jack (aka SlipJack)
==
Key:
--
bp = black pyramid
s[n] = server number
==
Basic idea and intro
--
It goes like this: -connect to bp s1. it is like outside the black pyramid
in the book. People all around, only few get in. the outside is the place
where the general public will be. now there will be a doorman. he is the
key to getting inside. You _HAVE_ to priv msg him to get him to listen to
you and this is where the authorizing goes on, either by sending something
like -> "/msg DOORMAN username password" ( cracked to easy, but i will put
in a kick in the private inside area ( it is ok, it is not general public,
but private)) or use a key file like -> "/msg DOORMAN" and door man sends
a something to a ProcessInput.pre plugin that will check a key file (like
$MV(homedir)/bp.key). Note: i want him to say aloud that he is letting
someone in (like -> "Welcome $MV(nick), nice to see you again [sir, maam,
or freak]!" accourding to $MV(personal.sex) heehee ). maybe a user option
of boolean $MV(bp_announce_enter)?

NOTE: Would like to use a plugin for the client bp stuff. No need to alter
      the client, if not everyone will use it. The DOORMAN needs to be
      liek the ort (not pushable), and needs to not be covered up ( a auto
      push if they are over DOORMAN. The DOORMAN only listens to PRIVMSG's
      because i don't want to see half a billion "Hey DOORMAN" "Hey
      DOORMAN"'s you know. People that can get in should know how to, so
      to immulate a silent nod.

Now inside:
--
This is where the fun begins. I want to have bot avatars and hacks on the
code that is different (maybe undesirable to the general public) from
regular OpenVerse boundries. We inside will be like the real tech
field; we will develop the technogoly for tommorrows OpenVerse, just we
get to use it first and play/test/debug the shit out of it first. We would
develop cool fun stuff and can talk about nerd/code stuff in private ( tho
we can outside, but inside we are like the masons). Cool, useless shit
too, like avatars than come up to you like just to your right and ask if
you want an drink...or we could send PRIVMSG in there that way ( a little
errand av :)). the inside is all full of ideas for me, but i think the
inside will be what it is from the group as a whole inside, not by one
person. The outside can be dictated by one coder :)
We could even vote inside and have stupid coding games and such. But i
want those little daemons :)
Also the members should have something to call theirs in there, a separate
server for each would be cool, but i don't like it. would tear away focus
from a central inside room and take up web space. i don't want to fragment
the insiders, i want to bring together. also if someone gets thru, and we
don't want them there we can make a BOUNCER DAEMON throw 'em out :), tho
that opens a rick for a takeover and that is not good :), what would that
say about the insiders? ( whe must not be too good because we just got
jacked, no pun intended)

Closing

yeah a central mailing list is a good idea. How does that all work on
implementing it? list admin? heh, i like that "admin" part, but what
exactly is it ( i can guess, but i don't want to make an ass out of you
and me, heehee)?....sigh i should take my act on the road...

Well cool, i'd like the see your encryption algorithym :) hope not rot 13
this time (heehee, jk).

thanks,
and welcome back,
-Jack

ps -> have fun quiting!! Don't forget, steal office supplies!!
