+ Vincent (narrating): The world knows me now as Vincent Valentine, the
silent hunter who gets the job done.  What no one realizes is that my time
with Cloud and the others has changed me.  I am burdened with a conscience now.
+ Vincent (narrating): Meteor has forced people to rebuild.  New towns have
been appearing over all the continents, and with them the inevitable struggles
for power.  Newly installed leaders often ask for protection.  But more often
than not, a client's initial request soon transforms into something darker.
It doesn't take long for "protection" to turn into "intimidation" or even
"assassination."
+ Vincent (narrating): Mercenary work in this post-Meteor world is easy to
come by.  Mercenary work for a man with a conscience is a completely
different matter, though.  In the end, it all comes down to KILLING.
+ Vincent (narrating): And I, Vincent Valentine, former professional killer,
have lost my nerve.
