It may take the next five years, but I wouldn't invest in a proprietary
software development model at this point.  Most of the world doesn't know
what Linux is much less open source, the developers are in a position to
understand the advantages of the open source model.  Given the advantages
that we have seen switching our business to Linux and open source I find it
hard to imagine how closed software can compete in the long run.  So you
are right, it is not time to bury them yet - but maybe we can feel sorry
for them because we know they have a terminal disease.  ;-)
