I think diff is the easiest way to compare 2 files. Make your xterm
really wide, then diff -y file1 file2. Side by side comparison. (In that
case you'd have to do it after patching, and keep an original copy.)
Of course, you're only a few options away from creating a patch when you
do that... ;)
