Re: [OpenVerse] BUGS/TODO
On this subject ....
...place on back back back burner and let simmer...
Might I suggest a password authentication system much like what IRC has to
offer so that handles are retainable?
It would be definitely a problem if there were more than one !!Rob!! (with a
brown cat icon). I recall I had a problem on a chat system many many years
ago. Someone stole my Nick and spread roumers on my behalf. When I found
out I hit the roof, and I vowed for this not to happen again. This was a
demonstration of how others can take advantage and "misuse" anothers' handle
and generate ill feelings. Hence, passwords and authentication systems
should be initiated OR a policy of non duplication should remain in place
and work on the real issue of disconnections.
maybe shorten the timeout-ghosting time so that a user is able to get back
in sooner.... as the number of users increase, so will the number of
accidental "carrier drops/disconnections", so the refresh timimg should be
revisited and shortened.
